About the
Improved Duarte :
The Improved Duarte Plum tree produces
very large fruit that is heart shaped and
blood red in color. The flavor is excellent
and widely regarded as one of the best
tasting plums on the market. The fruit dries
well and has a long storage life.
The fruit has a slightly tart taste when
cooked. The tree is a prolific producer of
fine quality plums.

Please note:
Your region's climate determines the type of
fruit trees and fruit that will grow
successfully. The climate must be compatible
with the growing requirements of the
selected fruit tree. Some varieties will
even prevail in the harsher Upper Midwest
climates. Most fruit trees require between
130 - 150 frost-free days. If you are unsure
as to how many frost-free days your climate
has, please contact your local county
