About the Green
Smoketree :
The Green Smoketree, Cotinus coggygria, is a
deciduous shrub/tree. The branches are spreading,
loose, and as wide as high. Green Smoketrees have
bluish green, sometimes yellow like leaves. Their
fall color is red-purple.
This deciduous tree has showy pubescent pedicels
and peduncles of flowers that provide the "smoke"
appearance. Smoketrees like sun. It is a tough tree
that is adaptable to widely divergent soils and pH
ranges, and it is very drought resistant. It is a
great accent tree. |
