About the
Potentilla - Tangerine :
The Tangerine Potentilla, Fruticosa
tangerine, is an excellent but rare wildlife
shrub. The orange flowers last over many
weeks like other cinqufoils, but the beauty
and unique feature of this species is the
prostrate habit. The dense foliage spreads
horizontally across the ground slowly
producing a thick mat.
They are virtually pest free. The
Tangerine variety is wide spreading with
layered branches. The flowers are bright
yellow in full sun but become orange in cool
weather or parital shade.. The shrub flowers
from early spring to late fall and should be
pruned back every 2 to 3 years which will
rejuvinate the plant. |
